National Opera and Ballet is a state cultural institution of North Macedonia. In 1947, the opera ensemble was established, followed by the ballet ensemble in 1949. Both groups were part of the Macedonian National Theater (MNT). This style of theatrical organization (drama-opera-ballet, also known as the Austro-Hungarian model) was altered in 2004, when MNT kept the drama ensemble, and opera and ballet created a separate company known as the Macedonian Opera and Ballet (MOB). The Macedonian Opera and Ballet changed its name in 2018 to "National Opera and Ballet" (NOB).

AVC Group provided Audio and Lighting equipment for the main hall, as well as system integration and final assembly. The project was funded by Japanese donations.
