New Tascam handheld recorders with 32-bit float resolution

Tascam announces two new portable stereo recorders. Building upon the strengths of the previous versions, the DR-05XP and DR-07XP are ideal for capturing pro-quality recording for music, audio-for-video, meetings, dictation and more. Featuring 32-bit float resolution capability and compact form factors for easy, one-handed operation among their many features, these two new models are designed to deliver world-class audio performance with ease of use and minimal setup time. The 32-bit float recording mode with up to 96 kHz sample rate ensures low-noise, distortion-free recordings for superior sound. And with support for SDXC cards up to 512 GB and a battery life of more than 17 hours, there is plenty of recording capacity available for on-the-go use. Both models have built-in microphones capable of handling audio levels up to 125 dB SPL. The two omnidirectional fixed condenser microphones on the DR-05XP can pick up sound from any direction. The DR-07XP is more flexible, with stereo condenser microphones that can be set up in either AB or XY orientations, allowing a wide stereo image to be recorded. And a stereo mini jack on both models lets users connect mini microphones with plug-in power or external line sources for mono or stereo recording.
